URAL FEST - what is it?
On November 14-16, 2019, South Ural State University will host a large-scale forum dedicated to the training of foreign students in Russian universities - Ural Festival of students (URAL FEST), which is held by the Association of international students of the Southern Urals.
This event will bring together students and graduates from different countries who have chosen to receive prestigious higher education in Russia. Experts from Moscow and forum participants from Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Orenburg, Kurgan, Ufa and other cities will discuss the specifics of training and residence of foreigners in new conditions for them, intercultural communication, effective interaction of students, graduates and the University, as well as many other issues.
Educational trainings, international excursions, cultural and sports events will be organized for participants of the Forum. All this will allow us to take a fresh look at the development of international relations in the field of education, make promising acquaintances and contribute to internationalization of Russian universities.

Dear forum participants! I am glad to welcome you in South Ural state University!
From the point of view of strategy, the education of international students is very important for all countries of the world, including Russia. The President and the government of our country set a task to increase the number of educational services provided to international students.
In Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (nowadays - SUSU) until recently we haven't had such a tradition, as there were no international students. It all started when our University became a member of the 5 – 100 project. We have a range of educational services for foreign students, and today we are actively working in this direction.

Now a lot of students from other countries study at SUSU. Thanks to the decent level of services, we have gained credibility in the international educational sphere and now we set a goal-to move to an even higher quality level of training of foreign students at our University.
This is not an easy path, there are many problems. School education in physics and mathematics, for example, in many countries is significantly inferior to the education that children receive in Russia. An important issue related to education is the socio-cultural adaptation of students. It is not easy for young people in another country. We must do everything to make their stay in Russia comfortable and to promote their successful studies.
The Forum will allow us to discuss all the problems related to the education of international students. Best practices will be presented here. There will be an opportunity to exchange experience, and every University has a good experience. From this point of view, the large-scale forum, which will be held in SUSU, will be very useful.
Our University has the Association of foreign students of the Southern Urals, as well as SUSU entered the all-Russian Association of international graduates. Much is being done to attract a large number of international students with a good level of training to our University. We strive to provide quality education so that when our graduates return home with diplomas, they can successfully develop their economies and not forget Russia.
Dear friends, I wish you productive work at the Forum and constructive discussion of topical issues! I wish the participants of URAL FEST to find ways to improve the quality of education of international students, opportunities for deeper acquaintance with the history and culture of Russia. I am convinced that the forum will help to improve the activities of each University in this direction.
